The Second Coming King

One of the only up-tempo-ish song I’ve written thus far! It’s one of my favourites. Has anyone dared to write a song about the Jesus yet to come, because I have never heard one? Apocolyptic in nature, but it’s ok, because Jesus will be there!

The Second Coming King

Verse 1
God send us our Saviour
Within these, the final days
Orchestrate Your will
And drive out the enemies
Shelter the redeemed
Protect Your people
Before the stars fall
And everything crumbles

Pre-Chorus
Our eyes are wide open
But only You can see
Through flaming fire to glory
The second coming King

Chorus
The fire’s in His eyes
So alive!
Coming with the clouds
On a white horse
With the name of Faithful
To call you to his side
In the midst of it all

Bridge
Nowhere to run
No place to be
It’s impossible to hide from Him
Nowhere to run
No place to be
It’s impossible to hide from Him

Chorus
The fire’s in His eyes
So alive!
Coming with the clouds
On a white horse
With the name of Faithful
To call you to His side
In the midst of it all

A guy named Gerhard covered the song too. I love it when people do that. It’s different to my original version, I really love it.

Hope you liked them both too.

Amen

I don’t know how I came up with the concept of this spoken song/hymn. Sometimes I write in the middle of the night, then I wake up and read what I’ve written. This was one of those nights!

Amen

Verse 1

You called me stand before you Lord

From a world that is dark and full of harm

I find in You my strength my future King

Your presence could never be far from me

And when I kneel to talk to You intimately

You lean in tight and hold me near

Chorus (Choir)

Amen

Amen

Amen

Verse 2

The moment I feel my spirit is touched

Anointed by the hand of God

And in my soul I know I’m changed

By the grace of Your untouchable ways

Accepted as a token of Your boundless love

I bear myself up before You Jesus

The Messiah’s Love

Messiah'sLove

Song writing. The physics of it, scribbled, ha! (It’s as if I got drip fed this song.) This song started with one verse. I then wrote the chorus, expanded the chorus…then added the second verse to the end of the first verse and wrote the bridge. The second verse was the very last thing I wrote. And then you get something like this, the finished version:

The Messiah’s Love

Verse 1

More than a man

Sings my soul

God in the flesh

Saviour Come

More than a king

Lord of all

Heaven sent

Holy one

Chorus

The Messiah’s love

Knows no bounds

Beautifully perfect

Deeply profound

He spreads His love

Wherever the wind blows

I can feel it in my bones

The Messiah’s love

Knows no bounds

Verse 2

More than a priest

Light divine

Sent by my God

To my life

More than love

So much more

I am His

I’m adored

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge

Come Lord

Come Lord

To me

Come Lord

Come Lord

Lay your love on me (x2)

(Repeat Chorus)

Jesus’s Gifts

I brought you a lantern

To light you on your way

So even when there’s darkness

You can learn to be brave

I brought to you, love

To make life worth living

So even where there’s hate

You can learn to overcome it

I brought you my faith

When you were blind to see

So even when you doubt it

You know that God is near

I bring you my peace

To quieten your soul

So even when it’s turbulent

I can calm the ocean

Have you seen Jesus?

I wasn’t brought up in church, I had no religion to speak of. Although I always believed in God. I never really gave Jesus a second thought when I was growing up. But when I turned 36, that all changed. I was walking in the ‘darkest valley’ I have ever had the displeasure of walking through. 3 days before that happened, Jesus came to me, in the most vivid dream I have ever witnessed. This is what happened.

I found myself walking in a dusty marketplace. This seemed to be Jerusalem, or somewhere similar. The market was busy with people buying and selling things. I don’t stop to buy, or look, I just continue walking through. When, I suddenly see Jesus sitting down on a wooden chair. I look around me, but no one else sees Jesus…or even notices that He is sitting there! I look around once more. And look at Jesus again. He smiles, such a warm, lovely smile. He beckons me towards Him. I walk over and stand before Him. The whole time, words are exchanged, yet no words are spoken, and yet I understand every single thing. Jesus has some material folded on His lap. He gives it to me. I smile and take it from Him. I unfold it…it’s a robe.

The significance and timing of this dream visitation from Jesus, couldn’t have come at a better time. When most of my family and friends had deserted me, there was Jesus, showing me that He would be there for me. My light, my hope, my strength in the darkness.

Have you seen Jesus? Comment. I’d love to hear your story!
